Si... not an Italian word, because this photo is of Italian immigrants and their shop in the United States. I think it is in New York City. Italian-Americans had to make up words often in an attempt to assimilate into American life. By using the word "Groceria" they were trying to pull in other nationalities that might recognize the wordy "grocery" within it. . Your comment will be posted after it is approved.
